InsingerGilissen Bankiers NV - a leading depository and private bank - guides and relieves its clients in making important asset decisions at every stage of their lives. InsingerGilissen strives for excellence in everything and won the prestigious IEX Gouden Stier 'Best Private Bank of the Netherlands' in 2019 for the second year in a row.

M2mobi guides InsingerGilissen on their journey to digital excellence. A company-wide transformation, in which digital tools are an increasingly prominent addition to the traditionally very personal relationship between banker and client. The first achievement is a brand new Android and iOS app, with a safe and user-friendly payment option as its most prominent new feature. Developed within 6 months, in compliance with the new European PSD2 guidelines and InsingerGilissen's own high standards for safety and quality.

Speed and security in a complex environment

The stakes are high in the world of private banking. Integrity is self-evident, security an absolute necessity, performance a basic requirement and complexity a given. This also applies to the development of new digital services, such as the newly launched app.

In addition to the usual security and privacy requirements, the migration of sensitive user data from the old app and the integration with a complicated braid of (third party) systems considerably increased the complexity of the project. Not only have we provided a secure and solid migration and integration, we have also implemented an additional layer of security. Naturally while maintaining performance, for an optimal user experience.

A series of extensive security assessments by several specialist authorities confirmed our 'security by design' approach: the app meets the highest security requirements.

An organization-wide digital transformation

Where traditionally a customer called her or his banker with the request to execute a transaction for a large purchase, for example, this has been considered unsafe since the introduction of PSD2. Payment via the InsingerGilissen app does comply with strict PSD2 regulations.

This makes the new app the driver of an organization-wide transformation, which also demands a lot from the employees. To ensure a smooth transition, we therefore organized together with InsingerGilissen various collective (walk-in) sessions and demos for all stakeholders, but especially for those who have direct customer contact.

A phased release enabled employees and selected customers to extensively test the app, so we could achieve a hassle-free rollout to the entire customer base afterwards. For example, we created a dedicated group of ambassadors before the release, who could act as an internal and external source of information and as avid promoters.

Start-to-finish: 6 months

Together with InsingerGilissen we developed a secure and user-friendly payment app, from concept to realization. All within only six months. However, this is only the beginning. The app forms a solid basis for further development. We will not only work on existing functionalities, but will naturally implement new features, which add undeniable value to the personal relationship between InsingerGilissen and its customers and the bank’s digital transformation.
